Man is that ever a nice home. I really love the stone walls, the front
pillars,,everything about the place. From the outside it is absolutely
beautiful. It's also not too big on the inside. It's big but not huge.
Kathy Westmoreland said it best when she told the king "it's nice and
homey".
Some of these mansions that today's stars and corporate millionaires own
are just far too big. They don't have that homey look or feel to them.
You know? I mean the size of Graceland is all the king really needed.
Unless of course you have 12 kids or something. Graceland was /is a
perfect size with a nice amount of acreage to go along with it. Although
it could have used some more bathrooms. That's one thing you can't have
enough of....bathrooms.

At the height of it all... "back in the day"
How many people lived at Graceland?

Did the maintenance staff live there as well?

Nice photos,

Yeah, for the kind of money they are making you would think more care would
be taken to protect the golden egg and do the maintence needed. Not sure
about the bedroom shades if they just want to keep it as it was or what
though. The last time I was there I didn't remember seeing those still up
on the windows.

The daughter of one of my co-workers was in Memphis a couple of weeks ago, and
tried to do the Graceland tour, finding it to be closed. I was wondering if
they were doing some repairs then?? (Dawn, Jordan??)

It was probably a Tuesday. They close on Tuesdays during the winter.

Definitely not closed for repairs.
