A long-ago legal document has surfaced in the UK that is highly
critical of John Lennon, reports The New York Daily News.

The claims were made in a five-page document penned by lawyers
in 1968 representing Lennon’s first wife, Cynthia.

According to the Times of London the statement was taken from
the Lennons’ housekeeper Dorothy Jarlett who passed away last
year. The letter was found among her possessions and is now up
for auction.

No, he wasn't a sweetie ... kind of thuggish at times.
Actually ALL of his friends were much the same way.
In the old days they'd play music for awhile, and then
go out and fight with other leather-clad 'rockers'. Such
fights likely got Stu Sutcliffe killed - delayed reaction to
a bad whack on the head. It was a 'lifestyle' for the
times and place - post-war England & europe were
tough places, spawning tough-guys.

But - he was a good songwriter (when combined with the
right co-writers) and that's what he will be remembered
for in the long term.
